Description: article & video by Jor-El "Royal Rel" Asberry/nWhen you hear the words Staten Island you immediately think of the Wu-Tang Clan. You then find yourself struggling to identify anything else with the forgotten borough. Well, our friend Ron T. the founder and owner of 1-UP feels the same way and wants to do all he can to change that. 1-UP would like to start by bringing the sneaker culture to the Island. While every other borough having their fair share of boutiques except for the Bronx, it was only right that Staten not be the last borough to bring the sneaker culture closer to home. When you first hear that there's a sneaker boutique in Staten Island you think to yourself what could it possibly be be about. Let us help you with that visualization. Think of heat filled walls with kicks aging from the early 90's to now and employees as cool as Harold Hunter in "Kids." Don't be surprised if you walk in 1-UP and spot a pair of Nike Dunk SB Paris' or better yet Busy P's. We can say we weren't disappointed at all with our trip on the ferry to the "Forgotten Borough." As we mentioned earlier the Bronx is still the only borough without at least one sneaker boutique and that 1-UP is the first sneaker boutique ever to grace Staten Island. So, with that said and the fact that they've only been open three months Ron T. and his gang have truly garnered 1-UP./nP.S. So what if we were stereotypical by playing the Raekwon track. A classic is a classic
