DJ Juice’s Top 10 Sneakers Of 2011

[ 4 ] December 31, 2011 |

Lets get started shall we..

#10: Lunar Eclipse+

This is one of the finest pair of running shoes I’ve seen. They are aesthetically pleasing and well constructed. When putting these on, they strap up your feet like an automatic seat belt. These shoes glide.

#9: The Kennedy

New balance has been impressing me throughout this entire year. Their models are looking more crisp then ever. The company’s 1500’s are genuinely a beautiful shoe that will make any outfit look clean. Besides the 1500’s, the JFK’s undoubtedly turn heads. The American Blue and the tan finish put these shoes on another level. The shoe’s laces officially set it off. They are the cherry on top to this construction.

#8: True Blues

2011 was the year of the threes. The threes are one of the most versatile pair of jordans because they look fantastic clean or worn. You can do anything in them and they will still look fashionable. The threes aren’t by any means my favorite Jordan shoe, but they are consistent. You can never go wrong wearing a pair of threes.

#7: Tribe Called Quests

These shoes were under rated. They are a classic composition detailing “The Low End Theory.” The Lime Green and red swoosh make these shoes glisten.

#6: Air Jordan 13 Ray Allen PE

I’ve always had a thing for the 13’s ever since the flint greys. This P.E. edition adds a special remix to this Jordan model.

#5: Cheech & Chong – Chopped & Burned

Here’s the thing, the Cheech and Chongs really weren’t of the same caliber as their other SB counter parts.  I wasn’t very fond of this shoe until I saw them burned… One shoe head decided to chop and burn parts of the shoe. This revealed a shiny green interior. The green interior not only made this shoe more appropriate for 4/20, but it made something out of nothing. These burns added a whole other dynamic to the shoe that can’t be overlooked.

#4: Air Jordan 1 “Banned”

Michael Jordan was fined $5,000 for every game he wore these. Nuff said

#3: Wolf Greys

This was the most over looked Jordan of the year. So many people hated on these. This is one of my favorite pairs of J’s. The colorway is simple, but they are a nice edition to any outfit. The mineral blue accent on the sneaker adds a nice glow to the shoe. Stamp.

#2: Wings Of The Future – Gold Edition

I saw Bun B wear these at D.C.’s Sneaker Pimps. The color way on this shoe is so original. Everything about this edition makes for a unique sneaker.

#1: Nike Air Huarache Basketball 2012 QS

The Fab 5 did damage with these shoes in the 90’s. Each color on the shoe compliments one another perfectly. The model of this shoe is unique and stylish.  Although these are a re-release, there’s something about the originality of the shoe that strikes me more than the others.
